We are pleased to announce that a valued colleague in the Stanford Graduate School of Education, Prashant Loyalka, has agreed to join our community as Co-Director of SCANCOR-Stanford for 2023-2024!  Prashant will take over running the Monday and Thursday seminars while Patricia Bromley is on sabbatical .

Prashant is an Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Education and a Senior Fellow at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies at Stanford University. His research focuses on examining/addressing inequalities in the education of children and youth and on understanding/improving the quality of education received by children and youth in multiple countries including China, India, Russia, and the United States. He also conducts large-scale evaluations of educational programs and policies that seek to improve student outcomes. In addition to his outstanding research on educational policies, Prashant has recent publications in Management Science examining issues of worker turnover. Beyond his exceptional research, Prashant is gifted at creating collegial and stimulating intellectual environments. Patricia had the chance to experience this first-hand when they co-ran a seminar together several years ago.  We are very lucky to have him joining us.
