Konstantinos Kostas is an incoming Fall 2026 postdoc who will be based at SCANCOR and working with Professor Fred Turner in the Department of Communications. Konstantinos is a political scientist and organizational researcher working on institutional norms and the global governance of AI.  In his postdoctoral research, he is interested in how normative ideas from a specific context are adapted and received in global governance, and how these ideas change over time and across space in organizational fields and contexts, both through concepts and data. Among Konstantinos’ research focuses are institutional theory, international rankings and policy indices, algorithmic governance, and paradigmatic shifts of human-centricity. He is also interested in intellectual and conceptual history, politics of knowledge, the relation between formal and informal norms, and institutional design. Konstantinos received a master’s degree in political science, including a specialization in public administration and organizational research, and has completed studies in international relations (Sciences Po, Paris) and business technology (Aalto University). He is also a member of the Ideas and Institutions (IDIS) research group at the University of Helsinki. Since the winter of 2026, Konstantinos holds a PhD in Politics and Organizations (Political Science) from the University of Helsinki.
