PhD Workshop 2020 Application Information

How to apply to the PhD workshop

With the recent outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we have decided to extend the deadline for applications from 30 March to 31 May.

Interested students should submit an application including a motivation letter, their resume, a recent course paper written in English, and a letter of recommendation from their supervisor. The application deadline is May 31, 2020. Only PhD students currently enrolled in a PhD program are eligible to apply.

Please submit a motivation letter (maximum 1000 words) in which you briefly describe

-       your PhD Project

-       how you anticipate that the workshop could advance your dissertation work, and

-       your research ideas and how they relate to institutional theory

Please also upload a resume of your academic achievements including academic degrees, relevant work experience, publications (including working papers), as well as the name of your main supervisor.

A letter of reference by your main advisor should be sent directly to Tiia Melander ( and ( before May 31, 2020.

A decision on who will be admitted to the course will be announced mid-May.

PhD students from the Nordic countries that are the core supporting members of the Scandinavian Consortium for Organizational Research, and from European and North American partner universities are given priority. Other PhD students are welcome to apply as well, and will be admitted based on available space.

Course Credit: 6 ECTS points

Cost: The fee is €300, including study material, a welcome reception, and a graduation dinner.
